November 19, 2024  |  Chicago, IL Seefried Industrial Properties was honored as “Developer of the Year” and received the award for “Industrial Speculative Development of the Year” at the 37th Annual NAIOP Chicago Awards for Excellence. The event, held at the iconic Old Post Office in downtown Chicago, brought together over 800 industry leaders to recognize the top commercial real estate achievements in the region.

Seefried earned the Developer of the Year distinction based on the outstanding quality of development projects throughout the metropolitan area for the application year ending June 30, 2024. During this period, Seefried adapted to changing economic conditions to successfully develop, lease and/or sell six industrial projects comprising of over 1.3 million square feet, making a significant positive impact on local communities. In addition, Seefried completed Building 1 of a multi-phase data center campus on 65 acres in Aurora, IL.

Along with Developer of the Year, Seefried received the "Industrial Speculative Development of the Year – Small Scale" award for O'Hare Logistics Center Buildings 13-15. This was a 228,000-square-foot project with three buildings located in Des Plaines, Mount Prospect, and Elk Grove, IL. The project involved acquiring 14 acres across three parcels, securing Class 6B incentives, and collaborating with top firms including Harris Architects, Kimley Horn, Jacob & Hefner, Premier Design Build Group, Principle Construction, Blue Water Construction, and Keeley Construction. Financed with European capital partners, the project reflects Seefried's commitment to infill development in Chicago. With the successful leasing and sales of these projects, Seefried has now developed 15 industrial projects in the O'Hare submarket, cementing its leadership in one of the most competitive industrial markets in the country.
